Original lino print: “Buried Treasure”. Two creatures sit with their backs to a tree in contemplation. The tree branches are filled with small birds. The tree roots wind around skulls. An all-seeing eye floats in the sky. Limited edition of only 10. Printed in pthalo blue to pthalo green in a gradient onto 100% recycled kraft paper which is pale brown. All vegan materials. Signed, numbered and dated. Printed in my studio on a Rollaco Cachet etching press in 2020.
There’s a sentence paraphrasing the Jungian writer Joseph Campbell that I’ve always loved: “in the cave you fear is the treasure you seek”. This print is in parts about how working with our fears brings the most profound and beautiful rewards, and about how that so often happens through our relations with others.
